A masterpiece low-seat chair born from Japanese lifestyles
詳細説明
Born from Japanese lifestyles, the low-seat chair features sled-shaped legs made of two pieces of plywood, designed for use on tatami mats. Its design is suited to living on the floor, whether on tatami mats or carpets.
This design is based on the “Bamboo Basket Low-Seat Chair” designed by Junzo Sakakura in the late 1940s, and the current rounded backrest and seat were added around 1957. It took on its current form when it was exhibited at the Milan Triennale in 1960, and has been a beloved long-selling item ever since.
The backrest and seat, made of molded plywood, have a beautiful curve that follows the human body, providing a comfortable seating experience. Another appealing feature is that you can sit in any way you like, not just with your legs stretched out, but also with a cross-legged position.
