Prototype of “SM7051” released by Tendo Mokko in 1970. While the base of the released product is chrome-plated, the prototype is painted white, and the member supporting the vacuum-formed acrylic resin is slightly thinner, confirming the design process when compared to the production version.

詳細説明

In 1970, Tendo Mokko introduced its acrylic series, and in addition to the “SM7051” designed by Isamu Kemmochi, an acrylic version of Sori Yanagi’s butterfly stool was also produced. Since large-scale molding became possible, many manufacturers and designers experimented with plastic in a variety of products and parts, and the use of plastic as a new material spread rapidly.
